Pilot Projects

This project is conducted by some alumni of the American sponsored programs as the pilot projects, in cooperation with the contributors from students' government of School of Social Sciences State University of Malang and other volunteers. The initiators are also underneath the supervision of Forum Kerukunan Umat Beragama (FKUB) Malang, consisting senior clerics and scholars from various religions in Malang.


Guk Sueb
Guk Sueb is a graduate of State University of Malang majoring in English Language Teaching. He attended spring at American English & Culture Program at Arizona State University, the U.S.A. Having graduated on the last September 2011, he is now working as a lecturer of English for specific purpose at Magistra Utama in Malang. He is a debater & adjudicator, and also an instructor for Bahasa Indonesia for international students at BIPA State University of Malang.

Nurona Azizah

Nurona Azizah is a senior student majoring in Nursing Assistant, Medical School, University of Brawijaya. Having attended fall school at American English & Culture Program at Arizona State University, Nurona is now finishing her thesis and at the same time having her internship at hospital. Nurona is also affiliated with other community services both regional and national, concerning about child education.

Rif'atul Lum'ah
Rif'atul Lum'ah, well known as Riefa, is a senior student at State Islamic University of Malang "Maulana Malik Ibrahim", majoring in English Language and Literature. She attended fall school at Iowa State University focusing on English for Academic purposes. Riefa is co-founder of Indonesian Youth for Education, a national scale community services focusing on child education.

The Contributors from Students' Government, School of Social Sciences State University of Malang. The MICo will be also integrated into reguler Religion Studies in this organization. In the upcoming agenda, this interfaith dialogue will become the agenda of students' government at campuses in Malang.


FX Domini BB Hera
Known as Sisco, he is an analyst in social sciences and also the advisor of Students' Government, School of Social Sciences State University of Malang. He is affiliated with Catholic Family at State University of Malang, pilot project for some social forums in Malang and also the coordinator of "Senandung Merah Putih" a talk show for better Indonesia on Radio of Indonesian Republic--his concern is nationalism.

Vivi Sylvia Purborini
Vivi Sylvia Purborini, known as Vivi, as a junior student majoring in Civic Law, School of Social Sciences at State University of Malang. She is the program director for the first campus religion-based organization conference at State University of Malang. She is also the coordinator for religious affair division of Students' Government of School of Social Sciences, State University of Malang.

Some colleagues from American program in Jombang are now establishing the similar interfaith community service program, named "StaraMuda Community", youth community focusing on religion diversity in Jombang.


Ahmad Affandi Hasanuddin
Ahmad Affandi is a senior student of College of Teaching and Education Sciences in Jombang. He also attended spring school at American English & Culture Program at Arizona State University in 2011. Besides his last year at college, Affandi is affiliated with StaraMuda Community as the general secretary and also other community services focusing on anti-narcotics and HIV/AIDS campaign and also English camp for remote children. This year, he will be attending One Young World in Pittsburgh to talk about his community service in religious harmony.
